The tHp Story

tHp was founded in 1983, following a request for a specialised programme of interactive drama training workshops by Professor Patrick Pietroni, Founder of the British Holistic Medical Association and Senior Lecturer in, General Practice at St. Mary's Hospital in Paddington.

This innovative and highly successful project was the first of its kind in the UK to use trained professional actors to teach communication and consultation skills to medical students.

tHp's work developed rapidly as a result of positive feedback from St. Mary's doctors and students, to include more major teaching hospitals, medical trusts and health care providers in London and elsewhere in the UK.

From this ground-breaking start, for the past 25 years, tHp have been providing an extensive range of training and interactive drama workshops. Our programmes are used by consultants, doctors and students from all over the world. They have been filmed for dissemination and presentation to healthcare leaders and professionals throughout Europe, USA, Australia and South Africa.

In the past two years, we have participated in a major biotechnology study at St. Mary's to monitor communication and stress management skills by surgeons from the UK and overseas, using state of the art virtual operating theatre techniques.

the Harry partnership also has a growing list of clients in the global business and governmental sector. Recent clients include Shell, the Audit Commission and QinetiQ.
